Product - Shaft Adapters
The main purpose of the adapter is to connect the shaft to the club head. It does however, also play a key role in how you swing your club as most adapters have settings that allow the loft and lie angle to be changed to suit the golfer and varying from what a ‘standard’ setting would be. The adapter allows the shaft to be inserted into the head and secured in place using a Torx screw or bolt located at the base of the club head. Unlike a permanently bonded (glued) shaft, a shaft adapter makes it easy to swap the same shaft between different club heads of the same brand, offering greater flexibility and customisation for your setup.

The golf shaft is first secured inside the shaft adapter using epoxy and once fully cured, the shaft, is inserted into the club head. When fully seated, a Torx bolt is used to lock the adapter firmly in place. Each manufacturer designs their shaft adapters slightly differently, but all allow for adjustments to loft, lie angle, and face angle—helping players fine-tune their club to achieve optimal performance.

To remove a golf shaft adapter, secure the shaft in a shaft puller and apply gentle heat to loosen the epoxy. We recommend using a heat gun rather than an open flame, as direct flames can damage the graphite fibres in the shaft. Once the epoxy has softened, use the shaft puller to carefully remove the adapter. Take your time and avoid twisting the adapter during the process to prevent any damage. The process can be tricky if you have not removed an adapter before, if in doubt, your local PGA professional or club repairer will be able to do this for you.

Before installation, lightly rub, sand down to make abrasive and once done, clean the tip of the golf shaft—only remove the paint, taking care not to damage the shaft itself. Using a quality epoxy product, apply a small amount of epoxy inside the shaft adapter an dowrk into the area fully and then do the same to the tip of the golf shaft. Push the adapter on to the shaft until you feel a snug fit and then wipe away any excess epoxy, leave in an upright position and allow to cure as per the product instructions.
